Trident for Procurement Datasheet

Trident for Procurement is an AI application on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) for sourcing teams and their suppliers. It reads sourcing events and contracts from SAP Ariba, and purchase orders and business partners from SAP S/4HANA. It drafts and reviews procurement documents, flags issues for buyers, and writes back to SAP only after a buyer approves.

Ten skills and the SAP data they use

Each skill works on text you paste, upload or load from a project. Every skill also searches the knowledge base: keyword search over your documents and synced SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA records.

SkillWhat you getSAP data it can use

Agents propose, buyers approve

01

Observer

Syncs SAP Ariba sourcing events and contracts, and SAP S/4HANA purchase orders and business partners, through Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. It runs on a schedule an administrator sets, or on demand, and records what is new or changed.

02

Reasoner

Applies your procurement policies and raises findings: large purchase orders, new suppliers, expiring contracts and closing events. It can propose a write-back and, if an administrator turns it on, run RFP analysis or a compliance check.

03

Actuator

Carries out an approved write-back: push an award or close an event in SAP Ariba Sourcing, or create a purchase order in SAP S/4HANA.

Approvals

A buyer reviews the exact values of each write-back, then approves or rejects it. If the values change after it was proposed, the approval stops and the write-back has to be proposed again. Optional four-eyes approval requires someone other than the proposer to approve.

Signed audit trail

Skill runs, AI calls, proposals, approvals, rejections, write-backs, agent runs and settings changes are recorded in a signed audit trail. Each record carries an HMAC-SHA256 signature. Administrators can filter and review it.

Nothing is written to SAP Ariba or SAP S/4HANA until a buyer approves it.

Industry profiles

Choosing an industry on a project or skill adds its regulatory frameworks, key risks and mandatory clauses to the analysis.

Aerospace and defense

For example ITAR, EAR, AS9100, NADCAP and CMMC; export-control and counterfeit-part risks; technology control plan and traceability clauses.

Life sciences

For example cGMP (FDA 21 CFR 210/211), 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP; data-integrity and cold-chain risks; quality agreement and right-to-audit clauses.

Oil and gas

For example OSHA process safety management, SEMS II and BSEE; HSSE and process-safety risks; HSSE plan, permit-to-work and spill response clauses.

Deployment requirements on SAP BTP

SAP Authorization and Trust Management service, with buyer, supplier and administrator role collections.
Database
PostgreSQL on SAP BTP for projects, documents, findings, approvals and the audit trail.

Contract compliance check

The Check Compliance skill. On the left, a master services agreement pasted as contract text, with contract type, counterparty and industry set to Oil and Gas. On the right, the result: rejected, a high risk score, a summary of missing industry provisions, and policy items such as liability cap marked non-compliant with a suggested redline.
Sample dataA master services agreement checked against policy and oil and gas industry clauses.
